With the opening of the first KiK store in 1994 in Düsseldorf Gerresheim, founder Stefan Heinig laid the foundation stone for one of the most successful entrepreneurial stories of the German retail store. The success of KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH rests on the development of a new business model called "textile discount".
Currently, KiK is among the ten largest German retailers and has more than 3,400 stores across Europe - of which there are only 2,600 stores in Germany.
Our core business is the supply of quality good and affordable textile goods, which account for about 70% of the total assortment, while the rest is the supply of our Non Food items.
More than 24,000 workers are contributing to the continued growth in the number of stores and the overall success of KiK.
